In total, 1.36 TWh of GOs related to production from March to December 2022 were auctioned (-34.6% compared to the previous auction, but +5.4% compared to January 2023 auction), corresponding to the electricity produced by the RES power plants that benefit from the “dedicated withdrawal” by GSE and are granted feed-in tariffs. The auction revenues are used to reduce the cost sustained by electricity consumers to promote renewable energy.

, the total auctioned volumes went significantly down. Biomass offered GOs dropped by 632 GWh, equivalent to -62%. Only Hydro offered GOs saw an increase in volumes, with a moderated +21 GWh offered (+3%).

93.99% of the auctioned volumes were sold, with only 82 GWh of Hydro GOs remaining unsold.

GO prices moved from -22 (Wind) to -3% (Hydro), compared to the previous auction. Compared to the previous auction, prices, therefore, decreased on average by 1.12 EUR (-14%). If we match March 2023 prices with March 2022 (with very fewer volumes sold on March 22, 69 GWh less), the evolution is spectacular: +4.7 Euros on average for all technologies, translating into an average of 298% increase.

Prices have thus still been multiplied by almost four in a year.
