Commission proposal to extend gas reduction measures

On Monday (20 Mar), the European Commission proposed an extension of the gas reduction measures adopted in July 2022 to bolster security of supply. The gas market balance will be important for EUAs during the year ahead – gas savings, LNG supply flows, weather impacts on energy generation, and rebounding industrial demand will be important to watch during a year in which policy will likely take a back-seat to energy in comparison to 2022.
