The EC held a public webinar on 8 March titled ‘Registration of all types of transactions, and Proof of Sustainability’ where they shared the updated timeline, while also making it clear that while there is a timeline, there are no legal deadlines for launch at this stage.

 over the ambitious timeline put forward by the EC and suspended its involvement as a Service Provider, albeit while maintaining cooperation on the project. There does not appear to be a change in collaboration status for now.

There is a general target of being fully operational by Q4 2023, and while there are no legal deadlines, the European Commission Directorate-General for Energy (DG ENER) may intervene to implement one.

Also mentioned in the communication session on 8 March, was the intention for the EC to launch a public wiki for the UDB where materials from these webinars would be shared; to date, much of this information has come from second-hand sources (including the ISCC and EBA).

, along with some of the implications for transport biomethane and GO demand. Of note, is that there appear to be no further developments regarding GO integration with the UDB. Fortunately, this uncertainty does not appear to be slowing the establishment of gas GO registries amongst member states.
