Senior Analyst - Renewable Power

LinkedIn

I am a senior renewable power analyst at Veyt, where I support our quantitative analysis with qualitative approaches by breaking down data into actionable insights. My focus is on the less developed southeast European markets, analysing how these contrast with established markets such as Germany. Despite the EU mandate requiring all member states to have guarantees of origin (GO) markets, in my experience regulations vary greatly, with some countries yet to establish the optimal conditions for GO trading.

My role is to track when and how new states might join the European-wide market, while also reporting on how governments plan to support renewables expansion and the likelihood of achieving their long-term decarbonisation targets. I analyse the risks and opportunities for market participants and capture these developments in updates for our clients.

At Independent Chemical & Energy Market Intelligence (ICIS), I was initially a markets reporter covering the wholesale electricity markets, while also expanding my expertise on gas and carbon. My time as a journalist and later an editor means I know how to interrogate data, identify gaps and write concisely and clearly on energy topics. Covering market changes in real time, I have watched as renewables have become increasingly integrated into the power market, while fossil fuels are slowly phased out. While covering these big trends, I got drawn into the GO markets, investigating how pricing worked in what were nascent markets at the time.

My objective at Veyt is to equip decision-makers, in companies and political institutions, with insight into how their actionsimpact demand and supply in these markets. I help our customers understand the market forces at play and how to make the best possible decisions based on our analytical insights.

I live in Sofia, Bulgaria and I speak Bulgarian, German, and English. Away from my desk, I enjoy yoga and cooking.
